Not been in this year but planing a visit this weekend, and I have the latest chartlet from ECP.

For regular users I'm assuming best advice is still to stay close to buoys due to the narrow nature of the entrance, particularly number 16, and do you tend to head straight for 16 after leaving no 9 to stbd?

I can never remember the buoy numbers but the channel has been straightforward this year. I last passed that way about a month ago. So long as you keep fairly close to the buoys near the point there should be plenty of water at half tide, or even close to LW in the right place.

In August this year i measured 0.7m below cd if you follow close to the buoys in fairly straight lines. Don't know if that was the best route but it seemed the obvious one. The chartlet shows there should have been a bit more depth.

I've never had any difficulty when staying close to the buoys. I draw 1.6 m, and would avoid it for an hour or so either side of LW, but the harbourmaster at Titchmarsh reckons that if you can get in/out of the marina, you'll get through at Stone Point. I was once a bit anxious when the depth sounder was showing less than a foot under my keel!

Good to know, I draw 1.7 and have on the odd occasion raced across Pye Sand at 6kts and been alarmed to see 0.1 on the depth sounder. Timing wise I'll perhaps be heading in nearer to HW this weekend so should be ok.

I generally reckon that Pye End and a wide area around has about 0.9m at datum. Coming into Titchmarsh, the shallowest bit tends to be the mud just before their outer pontoons. Coming from the South it is usually worth going straight to the No2 buoy, which only loses you a few tenths of a metre.

Yes, echoes my recent experience going into Hamford this year, my crew needed a stiff drink when we dropped anchor

This weekend is the highest Spring for months, so no concern, surely, if arrival a few hours either side of HW? But don't leave it too late though.

And as a bonus there is the Boat Jumble starting 11am Saturday!

If you are going in a near HW this weekend then you don't need to worry about the buoys at Stone Point, just sail in, there will be plenty of water.
