Stokes Bay, Anchoring

I was wondering if anyone had anchored in stokes bay fairly recently,Manx could give me any tips/advice.

I plan to be there from slack until about HW+4 this Sunday.

It's not a much used anchorage because with a prevailing SW wind it's usually a lee shore. But if the wind is northerly, it's OK.

It can be very rolly, why not go to Osborne?

Although they did drop the anchor, it's more accurate to say they "occupied" Stokes Bay
Not much room for anyone else.

Might be a stupid question but I am guessing they didn't let her swing with the tide, was she anchored fore and aft or just so huge that she wasn't impacted by the current?

To Watch the 'Queens' go by no doubt. As said it down to wind direction (and comfort) for me with Southerly's forecast on Sunday, Osborne Bay or towards Peel Bank

And I think it is going to be s/w winds.. you'd be better sheltered over by IOW, maybe go up to Priory Bay, just watch your depths

I was told there were few fish at osbourne, although now some say there are. I knew I should have bought a certain crew member a different birthday present!
