Still think red's demise makes no difference?

Re: Still think red\'s demise makes no difference?

I think a lot of folk may be jumping the gun !
Do we have a date for final use of red ? How long will the change over take - a year ? two years ? How will it be regulated ?
I ain't going to worry until its definitely on the horizon. I know it'll happen sometime, but my guess (hope?) is we have another couple of seasons at least.

Re: Still think red\'s demise makes no difference?

c'mon guys no takers, where's the, it's got lots of hours, older boats are over valued anyway, sunseekers arn't worth anything anyway, retorts?

yawning rubbing his eyes with cupped hands, is that coffee I can smell?

GB not only screwed you on fuel cost, at the same time he's ripped the back out of the value of your asset!

Re: Still think red\'s demise makes no difference?

I think it will be more worrying if it doesn't sell for another year at that price. But as i said before nobody wants old Sunseekers anyway /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Re: Still think red\'s demise makes no difference?

Well it's a little old and dated but it looks very tidy and the hours are about right. If red were to affect the price of used boats then I suspect that it's at this end of the market where the red effect will hit hardest.

Still, lot of boat for the money and if you like it then why not buy it.

Re: Still think red\'s demise makes no difference?

This price drop phenomenon has been going on since the first log was dug out and put up for sale.Take one boat that nobody really wanted in the first place and keep on reducing the price until it sells or sinks. Can give you a prime example of a few years ago when a very nice Pegusus 35 plummeted from its first asking price of £65K down to .....please give me £25K.
Fast speed boats are a niche market old dated speedboats are an even nicher market, rather underpowered speedboats are .....and as for old dated underpowered speedboats being sold in the middle of winter, well.
Now find me a nice Corniche or Princess 35 in the sub £35K and will agree with everything you have ever posted. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gifever.

Re: Still think red\'s demise makes no difference?

This will only happen to the stupid & greedy, a little here & there will go unnoticed, as it does in most walks of life.
But yes, someone will get greedy & get caught, but that is up to them.
Please note that I do think people should pay tax, But I also think that tax should be fair.

Re: Still think red\'s demise makes no difference?

.H,mm problem is getting the perishing thing back over here where you can actually use it.Boats need to be at the bottom of your garden not an hours drive after 3 hour flight which started with a 2 hour check in after the 90 min drive to the airport. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Still think red\'s demise makes no difference?

I'm not saying it's right or fair, but the reality is if they catch you, they,(the establishment) will make love to you so painfully, in public!and smile while doing it.

so as to deter others fear is their weapon of choice, they don't bother fining the homeless crminals because they have nothing of value to take, if they take his freedom, chances are he'd be pleased for three square and a dry place to sleep, take away your boat, car, home, better than any advert to stop the others

Re: Still think red\'s demise makes no difference?

P.s. I will get out of this country as well, but business is very good at the moment, so will get out when the time is right , with as much as possible.
As I have said elsewhere, don't think my kids have a future here, which is a shame cos they are exactly what Bliar & GB want for the future.

I'll phone Grange tomorrow to ask the reason for the price drop

[/ QUOTE ]

So you've actually no idea why the price has been dropped, but non the less it "proves" that red diesel has had an impact on boat values does it? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Are you suggesting that prior to this red diesel situation no boat ever got reduced in price because no one would pay the original price?

In fact, since this boat was advertised without takers prior to the loss of red diesel situation, surely it "proves" that in fact loss of red diesel has made no difference, after all, this boat wouldn't sell last year, it's still on the market! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

In fact, now I think about it, I spotted a Nissan Micra for sale in a local garage that had been reduced in price after not selling for ages, oh my god, by exactly the same "logic" that must "prove" that loss of red diesel affects Nissan Micra sales too! This situation has a far more reaching effect than we ever thought!

Re: Still think red\'s demise makes no difference?

smile as much as you like Ari, this is the second boat in less than a week, yes I admit I'm guessing, but it still looks ominous for older diesel boats,

of course you can have your opinion, I just don't take any notice of it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gifespecially from a self confessed don't go anywhere boater /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

but then again, I find that your opinion is nearly always in the negative to who ever posts, /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

you just love to argue, /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

again, as I've said before, time alone will have the answer.
