Sticking keys

A couple of keys on my lappy are sticking. I had this problem with a previous lappy long ago and I mention if on here, and I was given a lot of useful advice. However, I cannot now find this post, so what is the latest was to free sticking laappy keys?

1: Turn your laptop up-side-down then tap it gently. All the crumbs from your sarnies should fall out.
2: Don't eat the crumbs because they're definitely stale by now
Or run the vacuum cleaner over your keyboard (be gentle)

One of our site managers had sticky keys, so the labourer hoovered his laptop when he was out. When he came back the "W" was missing. Lots of hilarity about not being able to insult staff anymore, but key was found in hoover dust.
On a more serious note--I had a problem with my keyboard on my last Dell laptop & bought a new keyboard. This was basically a sheet of keys in a thin frame. It was not expensive & fairly easy to replace. The old one had started to be a problem, due to minute pieces of grit falling into the keys, which simple cleaning did not remove. My latest one is built differently; but you may have one with a key pad layout that can be prized off & if so it is a good fix.
You can buy a pressurised aerosal can which you can use to blow air in around the keys to help remove grit. I have not tried this option.

I spilt some drink on mine. When I cleaned and dried it out, the keys often did not produce the symbol shown on the key.

A new board was under £20 and YouTube gave fitting instructions.

It's pretty easy to buy and replace keyboards on most major brand laptops, as stated above it'll most likely be on Youtube somewhere. I replaced my previous Lenovo keyboard twice - after one tea and one coffee - recently did the same with my current Dell Latitude
