You are so kind !!! The boat is a cobra 850. The orginal thread was assocaited with a cobra 850. Hence the link. Fhe outside nuts are domed like the inside. The bearing is fine as ive just had a new engine installed and prop shaft etx. The leak of weep is from.the lower bolt. Of fhe tsp.holding fhe housing in place if that make sense. Thanks for your help

I don't entirely understand the question. If you would like to look at this page https://coxengineering.sharepoint.com/Pages/Sterngear.aspx then explain the question a little better in the context of a photo or drawing we can offer more accurate advice.

OK The water can only get in through the bearing housing in the same place it is coming out of. So the housing needs removing and rebedding. I would use polysulphide such as Arbocol 1000 or Boatlife caulk.

Thank you. Do you know if the bearing housing is connected through the hull securing against each other the two housing pieces. Or are they separately bolted to the hull

The outer bearing housing is screwed to the stern tube which will be a metal tube glassed into the hull. See post #5 for photos. As I said earlier, just undo the fastenings, unscrew the housing apply sealant and replace housing.

The OP's problem is that the bolts on the outer bearing housing are domed (similar to coachbolts?) and there appears to be, from the photos he mailed to me, no way to unscrew them. Hence the query as to whether they may be secured right through the deadwood, although it seems, photos not clear enough for me to see, that the bolts on the inside are similar.

Not seen the photos, but are the domes clean back to bare metal? If not then they could have slots in them full of antifoul.

Clutching at straws a bit, but there must be some way of unscrewing them to remove the housing - if it is the same type as in the photo in post #5.

The bolts on mine, not a cobra, go right through the 'deadwood' with nuts on the inside. It took something like 2 or 3 feet of socket extensions to be able to get to the lower nut under the stern tube. My stern tube is not glassed in.
Had I not been able to reach the lower bolt I would have had to remove the stern gland and inboard support of the stern tube then unscrew the stern tube from the outer carrier.
