steering wheel covers

Lots of people will do it for you, but it's very satisfying to do it yourself. One of the best DIY kits is from Boat Leather. The kit includes pre-punched leather, thread, needles, and full instructions. Go for the closed cell foam version for a chunkier, warmer result. Here's mine...

You can buy a kit from Lewmar (if it is a Lewmar wheel). I used a Dutch kit available from Calibra Marine in Swanwick - cheaper than Lewmar and seems OK.

Clyde marine leather will custom make you a kit in proper elkhide ( reindeer but not Rudolph) in a choice of colours, run by a boat owner and highly recommended on here a while back.

Wheel covers

Is it possible to buy the proper thread as ours is starting to come adrift in places, looks like it could be done in situ if I get it quickly enough.

That is the hide or leather steering wheel cover not the pedestal cover. Any tips ?
