It could be rust under the paint. If it’s just surface rust then you should see it if you scrape some of the paint off. Is it possible to look at the inside of the hull in the bad spots to see if there is rust all through ?

?. Finding what to order is a nightmare on price , so far 830 £113,and some sort of interfill primer around £75 then they want £75 for delivery .
Must be something as good but cheaper

At the moment it looks pretty bad. The good news is that it is steel and can be repaired. However, you now need to rip off all the loose filler until you get back to steel. You may find the steel is totally rotten. No problem though, just have it replated. It is a big job but perfectly do-able especially if you are prepared to do it yourself.

Is this a case of expansion and contraction of the steel in sunlight etc causing the filler to crack? 3mm of filler seems a bit much especially if it's over a large area.

According to most , it seems moisture has got in behind it during the paint job.
Immediately causing cracks a few months after completion

Go to Pedro-Boat B.V. in Zuidbroek Netherland. They build steel yachts and have a airconditionned heated painting cabin. They do repaint and repair jobs.
