Stearn furling gear

My Moody 29 has this system and I'd like to give it some grease in the right places but am unsure how to get into it.

With the furling rope off the drum, there is access to a large screw - haven't had the bottle to undo this yet - can anyone advise or should I just get someone who knows what they're doing to do it?
