Start/stop buttons for kamd 300

Is it possible to connect start and stop buttons into the keyswitch harness on the flybridge that would stop/start the engine if the lower helm ignition switches are in the on position? And do nothing if the lower helm keyswitch is off. Thanks

There would be nothing to stop the start function working at an electrical level. You would be putting switches in parallel to the start switch final turn. I would assume that if the ignition were not on that the starter would not engage but trying it would be simple enough

Stop should be likewise as the final turn anti-clockwise then triggers the stop circuit so again in parallel.

On my boat if the ignition is on the engine fans run so if yours is the same bear in mind in practice you have to head down to turn on the ignition and then head down to turn off the fans ( ie ignition ) so you may not gain much.

Do you have an evc system on the boat ? All my helms have start and stop buttons which do the job via the evc system. If you already have evc perhaps you could add them.

Yes , for stop connect red/blue which is ignition live power to purple.
For start , same to red/ yellow.

You will need ignition on downstairs to give power to red/ blue in loom.
You can possibly get the buttons from coastal rides .

Blue with red trace is ignition live so it’s dead when ignition is off .
Purple goes to stop solenoid
Yellow with red trace goes to start solenoid
