Start of construction of the new Cowes Marina?

I don’t know, but I get the impression that in France and elsewhere a yacht harbour or marina is seen as a civic amenity and at least some public money is used in setting it up.
Pre Brexit, EU Regionsl Development Grants plus local funds matching was used to provide many / most of the recent visitor pontoons in Scotland, which have been a great asset but would not gave been possible without public funds.
Sadly nothing longer available.

Best things about Cowes are the island sailing club and Coast restaurant plus for the female crew a couple of clothing stores I’m told. The worst thing if travelling by car for us is Newport and the fast breeding traffic lights(maybe the IWCc have funds for traffic lights and chain ferries but not marina improvements)

We have a 12 mile trip to Cowes, but we take the left just after the New Inn, via Porchfield, and appear in Cowes near David Heritage and Aldi. It’s still so much better for us to berth in Yarmouth, unless going to Coast of course. We have the occasional night out in a marina there.
