Standing Rigging Supplier

Hi

Can anyone recommend where I could go for a new 7mm 1:19 forestay please.

I'm near Bristol.

I haven't had any joy out of Allspars nor Bristol Rope & Rigging.

Ideally I would like to be able to drive the original to the supplier so that the length is correct etc .

I've used Jimmy Green Marine down at Beer, and visited them as you suggest. Putting faces to names worked fine, and I bought more than a couple of bits 'n bobs from them.

I may be 'shot down' for this, but presently you are allowed to drive to JGM at Beer, but not CMG in Cardiff.

Edit: It sounds as though you don't know of Traditional Rigging at Underfall Yard - Traditional Rigging
They are certainly capable of what you mention.

Perhaps I didn't make it sufficiently clear..... 'Traditional Rigging', at Underfall Yard, is right in the heart of Bristol.... at the west end of the Floating Harbour.

I've recently used Euro Spars and received very good service and backup for a complete re-rig.

The sudden rush of people wanting to get on the water and getting jobs done that would have had a long window is going to put pressure on riggers, sailmakers etc. I suspect there's a fair amount of pent-up work.

I suspect they are rushed off their feet. I've always had excellent service from them.
