Going through the boat for winter I’ve just found a nick in the transducer cable which exposes the braid and has started corroding. It’s about a metre from the antenna and there’s loads of spare cable so can it be cut and re-connected easily or must I replace with a new antenna and cable?

If it is the active type antenna* like I had on my SH180 plotter, then yes it can be easily spliced.

*These have a cable with multi-pin plug not a Co-ax connector.

Thanks - I’ll have a look today. Ideally I was hoping to shorten the cable and re-connect directly into the antenna if that’s possible?
