Standard Horizon Chartplotter wiring

Im about to invest in a new chart plotter and the cp180 is top of the list, but no where can i find if it is removeable from its mounting bracket so i can take it inside once im finished using it for the day.
Can anyone tell me if it can be unclipped and removed easily?
Cheers
Rick

It is certainly possible for the 300. I have two positions set up with full function from both. Mind you the mounting hardware was pricey for what it was

Yes. A single thumbscrew holds it to the bracket and adjusts its angle. Pull out the plug, undo the screw (which with care stays captive attached to the plotter) and walk away with it. The fact that it's so easy means you need to take care of it!!

Dave. I am about to do the same job as you did to connect an ant200 to a Standard Horizon cp180i. Did the connections you described in your first post turn out to be correct in practice?

Many thanks.

I could not wait for a reply to my post above and if anyone else is interested in the answer too I can report that I just connected the AIS to the chart plotter as suggested by Dave Rolf in the very first post of this thread and it worked.
