Can anyone recommend somewhere to get stainless welding done in Glasgow/Clyde area.

+1 on contamination, unless they have a dedicated stainless workshop as some do.
Marine specialists are often quite expensive, whereas architectural types can be more reasonable, and they're using the same material often (316, 316L etc)
