For my engine housing. Any recommendations; or other ideas to stop it moving to the right and collapsing!?

In West Scotland preferably.

Thanks, as ever.

are you looking to strengthen the housing to stop it collapsing, or the connect it to the structure of the boat to stop it moving away from the engine area.

what type of boat, is the housing incorporated into steps like on a yacht, or is it just a fishing boat with a box type housing over the engine on the deck of the boat. (on a launch).

west coast of scotland, big area, maybe you can bring it down to a smaller area, might help, oban is on the west coast, but so is cape wrath, and the difference in getting some parts will be simpler in oban.

If you can find a fabricator for supply then bending the stainless plate shouldnt be a problem for you, or get a fabricator to do it. or maybe a galvanised plate might be a suitable alternative.

27ft sailing yacht, and its a wooden housing acting as steps above the engine. I'm aiming to have the starboard side fixed to the structure of the boat. I was going to a fabricators but my timescale is tight; so I'm aiming to make do for this season with an ordinary angle bracket and then go to a fabricator at the end of the season. But then I thought to come in here. I feel I ask so many questions in here that I don't push it.

:-)

West Coast mainland.

My steps/engine access are held in position by barrel bolts. You don't want them fixed in case you need access in a hurry.
