hi all

has anyone had any experience with a company called tech stainless http://www.techstainless.com/ they sponsor the sealine forum

I am thinking about using them to put the name on the back of my new boat, I am considering using their stainless stand off lettering with illuminated letters in 12volts so I can have it lit up when away from the marina if required

just after any feedback good or bad and also any feedback on using stand off stainless lettering with 12v illuminated backing I am a bit concerned at the amount of small holes that required drilling into the boat to fix it all on

thanks again

Don't do it Shawn, it'll create a problem matching the lumishores to the lighting behind the lettering when you end up buying them lols

Didn't Rafiki have stainless lettering fitted to his new boat?

They will look great Shawn , and as its a Fairline you WILL have to fit some Lumishores  , but don't worry about the colour as the Lumishores can be set to MATCH any colour ;).

I thought Nic had capped the spending the new boat .

One of the reasons I did not go for the backlighting was the fitting. My transom is slightly curved, and the std lettering was very easy to form. The back lit units looked a fair bit harder to fit. We do plan to use LED's on the fly stairs and a couple of other applications.

Bloody expensive and flimsy too! I had 2mm polished stainless letters for 'Blue Shadow' 100mm high for under £20 the lot from the local metal fabricators. Any font or size I wanted.

By coincidence I'm looking for some replacement lettering (~2" high) for the quarters of my boat to replace the shonky original lettering that's de-laminating. Jeanneau want £126 for replacements, so TechStainless at £2.99 a letter works out less than half the price and it's can't be poorer quality. Thanks lanerboy, reckon I owe you a beer!
