Bit of drift, anyone seen davits with supports like we have, no idea of the capacity....
It.s a Fairline 43-45 Sedan.

Interesting! Looks like the vertical struts are a later addition to either take some of the load away from the main mounting points, or to allow the tender to lie against when lifted. Although they obstruct the swim platform a little, they probably provide a useful handhold too when using the platform.
Is there a load plate affixed to the davits anywhere?

I have seen similar before and my assumption has been that either the hull reinforcing for the davit mounting isn’t quite up to supporting the weight and / or an owner wants to carry a particularly heavy tender that exceeds what was intended so in both cases the load is spread between the hull and the bathing platform.

I can see an issue with the poles preventing the tender from sitting correctly - when ours is lifted so the tubes touch the davits the innermost tube is against the davit upright and with belly bands the whole thing is nice and secure at sea.
