Our fully battened main used to return to the stack pack but having replaced halyard with dyneema it’s somewhat slower in the last quarter but maybe the track just needs some lube applied. Any way it’s not a real hassle as going for war ward to attach to the clip it’s a simple tug to drop the last 3ft or so.i think a downhaul line might over complicate for me.

Did you replace it with dynema that was thinner than the old halyard?
Is it actually coming down quicker at first, but the end of the battens are dropping too quick & sticking into the sail forming a "triangle" which prevents the sail from dropping? That happens to me, so I actually have to slow the drop, so the battens drop more horizontally.
