Just looking at the pictures of the new wind horse FPB and you can see the stabilisers coming out of the water in one picture. What happens to the stabilisers when you want to come alongside a mooring??? do they retract into the hull or hinge down or what??

In general they don't retract or hinge. It's generally not feasible to make such mechanisms. (an exception is Quantums, but FPB64 doesn't have Quantums). Normally they sit inside the chine enough for mooring.

I agree with you the FPB64 look quite exposed. Not sure if it's actually that way of if it's just funny camera angle/light and they are actually inside the chines

It looks to me like an illusion caused from the camera angle. I wouldn't have thought that the fins would work well at such an angle and they would certainly need to be within the beam of the boat at their extremity to be able to moor safely.

Cool photos though!
