Seriously why does the OP think these places are dumps?

Sounds like Gillingham needs a nomination here http://www.craptownsreturns.comexcept Gillingham in Kent which is 100% dump.![]()
Yup, when the forum sofware got rebuilt in May 2001 the exploding bog thread was lost. It was written in 1999. Pretty much all data pre-May 2001 got lost, which is why all users from before that time have "join date" May 2001. Basically on this forum anything before May 2001 doesn't existThat was one of the "cult threads" in the good old days, but I'm afraid that it gost lost in the cyberspace when the forum software was upgraded.
Glad to stand corrected if anyone knows where to find it and/or kept a copy.

Obviously touched a few nerves here! Nobody answered the question though, apart from a few snide remarks.
If you like that sort of thing then enjoy but don't expect everyone to think you are the dog's gonads by being there.

I am only talking about the harbour front where superyachts moor. Loads of bars and restaurants filled with holiday makers. Nothing to specifically appeal to boat owners, no upmarket shops (apart from the Breitling shop) hundreds of people milling about with their push chairs and buggies. Terrible service in bars and stupid prices which should attract the poseurs and deter the coach party crowd - but doesn't.
As to the poster who said don't go to those places if you don't like them, what an insightful comment, how would I know I didn't like it if I didn't go there once. They are both on my not to do again list. I like the East Coast and Gillingham doesn't pretend to be anything other than Gillingham. Brigette Bardot's hide is now nailed to a shed door by the way. (She bought a new one).
As has been said, not every part of the Med' is loverly. After all it is one of the most polluted seas in the world due to being landlocked but still manages to sparkle.

Oh dearie me. You need to stay in more.
Cheers
