what they won\'t tell you...

they won't accept a boat if you let on that it is owned by a business or is to be used for charter.

there is no check on ownership, in fact it has been known for thieves to register a boat to themselves before they nick it!

Ownership check

A long time ago I bought a new Dart (Yes, I know it's a lousy boat but there were reasons) from the Laser Centre and I was offered my pick of SSR certificates, literally from a bucket full. There is little justification for having one except for entry into France.

Having said that, the fact that my Sadler had been registered when I bought it made the process of tracing previous owners far easier.
