spray hood going green - any suggestions for cleaning?

Cleaned my cockpit cover with Patio Magic at the weekend and I'm VERY pleased with the result as all the green mould has gone. This stuff certainly works!

Just one question....as I now want to apply Fabsil to protect the cover, do I have to wash the cover first to rinse off any remaining Patio Magic solution? If so, do I just use plain water, or should I add some mild detergent or any other suggestions?

Cheers, Allan

The way Patio Magic works for me is as a preventative. Yes it removes the green but it definitely prevents things going green throughout the year. On my boat that's the teak deck and 'ropes'.
My cockpit cover does not go green so I've never tried PM on it.
I imagine that if it needs reproofing then that will do more to prevent algae than the PM.
If it is still waterproof then I'd leave the PM to do its magic over the season.
Just my two pennies.

I see that it's going to rain over the next couple of days so I wouldn't worry about washing the cover or not :)
