The latest edition of Yachting World had this atmospheric photo splashed across two full pages...

....with embedded text "The Pac 52 Warrior Won and Loic Escoffier's multihull Lodigroup round the rock bathed in the burnt orange of a dawn sun rising over Ireland's southern tip" Photo by Rolex/Carlo Borlenghi

No, you don't need to be a boat-spotting nerd nor a pro navigator to suss this howler. Once upon a time a sub-editor would get his ( her?) P45 for this. Lends weight to the argument that some yotting journos don't know their anchors from their asymmetrics....

YW Ed here. While we're impressed with the eagle-eyed sleuthing skills of our readers, sorry to say this caption is actually correct. Warrior Won rounded the Fastnet Rock at 06:01:39 on July 24, followed by Lodigroup at 06:02:08, making it very definitely sunrise.
Incidentally, anyone who wants to view the race data can do at RORC's new results system SAILRACEHQ

In deep water now, hope lifejacket inflates.
Surely we all know from certain people that there are now 'versions' of the truth.

Y'see, there are real peoples in Future Publishing - still. Even if one has to interrupt the essential morning 'espresso with two shots' that is de rigeur before any work is considered.

One has still to determine if said lady editor is based in bootiful Bath, or out in the sticks stuck in their outstation in Farnborough.
