No, you don't need to be a boat-spotting nerd nor a pro navigator to suss this howler. Once upon a time a sub-editor would get his ( her?) P45 for this. Lends weight to the argument that some yotting journos don't know their anchors from their asymmetrics....

YW Ed here. While we're impressed with the eagle-eyed sleuthing skills of our readers, sorry to say this caption is actually correct. Warrior Won rounded the Fastnet Rock at 06:01:39 on July 24, followed by Lodigroup at 06:02:08, making it very definitely sunrise.

I used to use several of these tools to work out sun angle through windows for interior video shooting over several days. Keeps the shots contrast as close as possible, amongst other things, particularly when doing pick ups some time later.
