I've got no problem with doing the passage but there may not be any nav kit fitted. Are Huelin Renouf or Channel (anything else?) Jersey based?
Use your ipad as a stopgap to get you home?

Yep, get Navionics on the ipad, again on your phone as a back up, and cast off the ropes!
ps. I have loads of free time Mark, so would be more than happy to join you for the trip across, then fly back.
AFAIK, the only company that does a regular freight cargo service to Jersey is Condor http://www.condorferriesfreight.co.uk but as you can see, they go from Poole or Portsmouth and it's a ro-ro service so the boat would have to go on a trailer rather than as deck cargo. I have heard that Condor are pretty pricey too. Possibly worth having a word with Peters and May http://www.petersandmay.com to see if they've got any other ideasThe Boston Whaler 320 Outrage is perfect for my needs. Found a US company that can ship to Southampton on a cradle. Not sure exactly how portable this cradle is but I then need to get it to St. Helier and then in the water. Any ideas folks?
Magnum, be careful what you agree to, in a minute Nick'll be asking you to return the favour with his new boat. Which is in Greece.[/B]![]()

There is compatibility problem with VHF sets because US/RoW use different frequencies for each channel number. You can spec a Europe format VHF though, which are widely available because of course US made boats are sold widely in Europe and vice versa. Novurania offered to fit a Europe spec VHF set to my RIBNick & LJS, thanks for the offer of help. I'll bear it in mind.
JFM, cheers also. I could get the Nav Kit installed in the US, but unsure if there are any US/UK compatibility issues. If it's just chart data then that would make sense.

Dunno exactly about the BW320, but I guess she has no genset and AC equipment, right?unsure if there are any US/UK compatibility issues
And in smaller size brackets - my Novurania 4.3m has a factory installed batt charger and 110v mini dock connection. I have 110v 60Hz on the boat (for the subzero fridges) so it works fineI've seen many US boats in that size bracket which, even if they don't have a genset, still have an AC dock connection to feed a battery charger while moored - again, same issue.
Wow, that's cool! I want oneHow about one of these with 1,670 HP![]()

3 of these I think John: http://www.seven-marine.com/motors/power-and-technology/ (3 * 557 - Nick disingenuously knocked off 1hp!)
