Sports-fisher with twin 300s

there is a donzi dealer in the uk, i can't recall who it is at the moment but once i have opened the wine this evening it will come back to me!

its easy getting stuff into the UK from US but would need to check its built to CE standard and certified.. they do look great tho!!

Statement seem to be a top end model out there as well. worth thinking about perhaps, there are plenty of boat shipping companies that i am sure you know well that could assist...

Nike to see some familiar faces here. Hope all is well with you. Do you remember the "4 gringos" photo Mike? :D

I can buy a Boston Whaler in the US for sensible money, but unsure about the whole CE thing. I'm sure they are CE compliant as they are sold in Europe but suspect it may be more complicated than that. Anyone know from first hand experience?

Is it worth a call or e mail to BW HQ in the States to check on CE status?

I'd rather ask the experts directly.

At the end of the day, unless there are "strong" problems (like typically old engines, not anymore emission compliant - which is very unlikely with the type of boats being discussed), it's just a matter of whether the cost is worth vs. buying in EU.
Again, for the type of boat which is being discussed, I'd expect it is.

If you are buying the boat for Jersey, will the CE thing actually matter. Jersey is not in the EU so do they require imported boats to meet CE standards? You might have to ship it to UK, as I doubt there is a direct route, but as long as it is then shipped straight to Jersey I don't think there should be any UK/European import, VAT or RCD issues to worry about.

Hi Magnum. Sounds a nice plan
I bought a novurania straight from the factory in Florida last year. Piece of cake. They shrunk wrapped it and put it in a container and sent me a photo. They organised a truck to collect the container at Felixstowe. Then the truck arrived at the uk address I asked, and the driver opened the container seal assuring me the doors hasn't been opened since they were sealed in the novurania factory. Boat was perfect and unloaded with a fork lift. They gave me the container code so I could track it on ais. Shipping was somewhere between 2 and 3 k usd including trucking at both ends and that was a whole container not shared. Incredibly easy

I dealt with novurania direct and paid them usd direct. They said "oh yeah you are in Europe. Sure we'll put a ce sticker on the boat for you and a certif in the doc pack for you. No charge"

It was of course a model they sold in eu thru their limited dealer network so they had already done the ce homework. But would be same for a BW I guess

One small thing is that my Yamaha warranty is USA only so I bAsically have no warranty. I don't care of course because a yam 70 on a tender will not break. Might be same with verados too and you have more $$$ at stake with two 300s. I dunno mercury's policy. Also, remember that ycop immobiliser is standard spec on all eu yamahas but it is an option on us models so remember to order it ( or buy on eBay and fit it yourself very easily, which is what I did in a pikey moment!)

Do the engines need to be fitted to an outboard-powered boat for it to get the CE rating? If not could you just ship the (CE marked) boat itself and have EU-sourced outboards fitted by in-country dealer here?

What about the Sessa Keylargo range?>

The Key Largos are nice but don't need the accommodation space.

The Boston Whaler 320 Outrage is perfect for my needs. Found a US company that can ship to Southampton on a cradle. Not sure exactly how portable this cradle is but I then need to get it to St. Helier and then in the water. Any ideas folks?

Huelin Renouf or Channel. Seaways could carry that but possibly from Portsmouth rather than Southampton ??? Or just launch in Southampton and drive it over ??

Sorry HR went bust new company bought their ship and does freight but I am not sure of their name now.

I've got no problem with doing the passage but there may not be any nav kit fitted. Are Huelin Renouf or Channel (anything else?) Jersey based?

did Huelin Renouf not go bust a month or so back??

i would be tempted to stick it in the water and drive it over personally.

freght to CI is crazy expensive in relation to other routes..

just googled these people, prehaps something to do with the old HR?
