"Everyone to his taste," but not aimed at you. Sure, it is each person's own business, but that doesn't stop others observing differences while not necessarily criticizing. But some people are soooo sensitive to any discussion about why they do what they do, don't you think?:)

Oh! but Arthur you were critizisi, I dont give a stuff what people support or don't support, nor do I tell people they should do this or that, unless they are hurting me, then I tell them to stop that please. If somebody would rather help somebody blast around the world in a RIB, rather than saving whales, that is their business. I will not now respond to anymore statements on this matter, I don't want to get into another slanging match!

Re: travelling light

Gotta admit them seem remarkably short of spares. Surely a whole lower unit (from cavitation plate down) ought to be taken on a trip like this, plus platform to bolt to the back, to fit it? Only a 1 hour job. It does not seem wise for them to do the pacific surely?

1 I do give to charity
2 I have received free entertainment from following the attempt and dont mind paying a bit for that to carry on
3 you are all welcome to your opinions however expressed, I just thought some of us were quite interested in the attempt and would prefer to see it continue.

Good on yer' Arthur! When's the next bike ride, or have you already done it? I lose complete touch and all sense of time out here in the northsea, I really don't know what day it is sometimes, working 12 hour shifts for three weeks, but I always know when it's time to go home, I start twitching! Keep up the good work, you never know I may sponsor you next time!!

Re: A bit like that......

Did two rides on consec weekends: 128 mi and 146 mi. Hm to some exetent you sound like a retiree not knowing what day it is, but that word 'work' gives you away. I don't envy you out there. Must be pretty scary at times. Take care!

Now if you'd have done that on a Raleigh Chopper or even Chipper I'd have been impressed B-)

Re: What do you want?

Blood? Well, I produced that, too, when I crashed at 20mph into a rider who fell in front of me. Only minor injuries and a lot of my blood, but my stiff upper lip kept me going to the end. People a third my age were dropping like flies by the wayside in 32C heat. It's a tough life out here - almost as tough as boating in the UK:)

Rub a bit of S*ltr*n into the wound, apparently it helps burning and gets rid of bugs )

Re: travelling light

It doesn't seem wise to "support" him off into the pacific. Fraid it seems fairly mad to have set off without the means to get back, and blame it on being "ripped off" a few packets of marlboro or a couple of hundred dollars should've been factored for the same reason. Singapore's a good place to call it a day, with cheap tickets back. Sounds very fortunate to be safe. Word amongst professional RIB manufacutrers is that they wouldn't have set off in that boat with that skipper. I really would have liked it to succeed, but it seem best that it stop now before some bad stuff happens.
