Hi foramites Question for the all knowing, how much would it cost for a spinakar to fit a 37Ft. boat roughly... Regards to all

I have a North Sails spinny which is almost new and too big for my boat (Oceanis 331) Might be suitable for a 37'. I bought it from a member of our club who had it as an insurance replacement. PM me if you are interested.

Thanks for all replies i didnt realise that they were so expensive but with everything added up i suppose there is a lot of gear needed to use a spinikar. does anyone think that using a spinikar with just wife and myselfe is too much like hard work.or are is the benefits woth the effort, as we are criuser sailers and do not race Regards...

You would be perhaps better advised to go for a cruising assymetrical.
That is a large nylon jib flown from the bow to mast head but not hanked onto a forestay which can be set for light weather reaching or running. Jibing or tacking can be difficult but with no pole they are easier to control. Might need a pole when running. no idea of costs.
In fact I have never owned one but they seem like a good idea. olewill

agree for just a couple on board you will need a snuffer.... we have just put a spinny and bits on our boat.

kite = £1500
Snuffer = £300
pole and track up mast = £800
sheets and guys = £400
pole up and down bits = £200
extra winches and pulleys = £800

we have a C chute but never used it though. wished i bought a kite in the begining.

Ttsnks chaps all your comments are very interesting, and very expensive, ill have to think hard about this one though.thanks again chaps Regards....
