What I don't get about poling a genoa out 90 degrees, is how do you stop the twist.
Without any pole, the top part of of my genoa is probably twisted off about 50 degrees. With it poled out to 90 degrees I would think a) you must have a downhaul and guy on the pole, and b) loads of tension on them. ie the whole setup needs to behave like a boom and kicker.
Or have I missed something??
