Has anybody been in there lately? How is it now? I'm thinking of visiting Chi Marina and we need somewhere for an evening meal.

Put it this way, the last thread we had the Spinnaker was Kimmerised/forums/images/icons/cool.gif

Go to the Black Horse, just down the road. Fantastic food especially the fish.

We went to the Black Horse a few times last year. Very good but you definitely needed to book.

The pub at Dell Quay (The Ship?) is worth a visit.

I have eaten there over the last three years. On Friday 19th March I had an excellent Fillet steak. I have never had a bad experience there. I own a restaurant in Sussex which serves fresh food, freshly prepared by a talented chef. When I eat out I try to avoid going to places where I will end up eating from The Fabuoluous Brothers Brake range served by the chef 'du ping'. This rules out most pubs and sadly increasingly many restaurants. Yes the Spinakker is quite expensive and yes the setting is not a typical restuarant. But the food is freshly prepared and is al a carte. Not a Brake Brohters box in sight ( I checked). With food you get what you pay for. This is a chef turning out high quality dinners with fresh ingredients not someone stuffing brake brothrs into a microwave.

Don't think the food is the point at issue; it's the, ahem, "customer service" and "warm friendly welcome" that seems to be the source of most comment...............

Rope was about to break so took it down and haven't yet got round to fix it - especially as I didn't think anybody ever noticed it - so you did well to notice it when it wasn't even there.
Guess Phantom's you know who eh?

Had heard stories of the service and welcome...

Ate there on Sunday night with Chris_B4 and family (4 adults and 5 kids in total) - food excellent, total cost was £130 or so, service absolutely excellent (particularly wrt the kids, which is rare), apart from one brief flash of the 'Mr Grumpy' persona when we tried to order food before the kitchen was properly open, and there was a rush on at the bar.

Bugger off, just cos your tippy, unstable Fartline made you trough tip up when Chris and I cruised regally by...

Anyway, I thought Meese were vegetarian. What were you doing eating lamb, another fellow ruminant? That's tantamount to canibalism, that is...
