Now the others have answered the obvious. If you drive to fast, you get banned. If you then drive you go to jail. Do not pass go, go straight to jail. Till Rick a six. Then get out of jail free. But can still not drive for maybe ten years. It all depends. Have you done some thing naughty then. Some thing that we should know about??
Dont know about speeding in boats. Think they just say. F*** B***** Dont do that again. So you dont. So everything is OK again.
PS was it Boat or car???

No one can force me to come here. I'm a volunteer
Have you speaking to Mrs Learner ? Today was confession day, and no I was NOT doing 75 on the A3 at Morden junction last night///// U fishing discretely ?
I am WHAT I say I am
What were you doing at Gretna Green Forbsie? 107+ MPH obviously you weren't trying to get there, you must have been escaping.
Where is Gretna Green anyway? somewhere near Scotland?
Scotland is near Newcastle on Tyne isn't it? or am I thinking of Wales?
What in that old Merc? Are you sure they they wern't just trying to make you feel good? Why were you in Gretna? Did it have anything to do with a certain lady and her mother you mentioned in a recent post? Is this too many questions?
If caught by a Gatso type device, then you should hear within 14 days or no prosecution. I'm not sure about getting caught by a car(was it Vascar or calibrated speedo?). If it was Vascar, I believe you can ask for that days calibration log and to see the operators pilot licence. There is a good website for this.
Try this.
Give it time, I was 'flashed' on the M11 and didn't hear anything for almost a month. Then it was another month or more before the bill.
OK it was passing road works, but there were still two lanes open and it was eleven o'clock at night - and a forty mile per hour limit on a motorway?? - do me a favour !! espcially as no work was going on.
Anyway I dun it guv so sixty hard earned down the swannee, and to cap it all they lost my license in the post (returning it). So I had to apply for a new one (photos an all that) - still came with the bad boy stamp though.
That camera must be a right little earner !!
Also got stopped a while back with a VASCAR on the A10. The Man said I was doing 98.6 which pissed me off as my speedo said I was doing a steady ton!!
Anyway it seems the machine went in for re-calibration and all I got was a slap on the wrist (in writing).
May you be as lucky !
How timely. I am aware of a mate of mine who was in court yesteday on this very matter. He doesn't want to be named due to what TCM would no doubt describe as the "ID gambit", see below
As background, it appears a strangely vindictive prosecution, as only 73 in a 60 on a Sunday eve, open road (the new wide, velvet smooth bit of A507, just West of A1, for those who know it) I cannot confirm any of this becos all a bit secondhand but apparently what happened was:
1. Accused hires heavyweight team. Top UK solr on these matters, plus top barrister.
2. They all turn up to court yesterday, but not the defendant. He is in McDos round the corner, mobile sw on, having Big Mac and chips.
3. Magistrate and CPS very narked about absence of defendent. Legal team explain perfickly proper, look here it says so in the law, see...
4. Magistrate doesn't believe it. Legal team amazed at his ignorance. 1 hour of debate (on a slam dunk point). Magistrate walks out and consults visiting judge who happens to be in building, and gets put right.
5. So 1.5 hours in, case actually begins.
6. Prosecution bla bla about menace to society speeder bloke bla bla
7. Defence say " very interesting, but you haven't proved the bloke you summoned is the bloke in the car, see". (There is no signature of defendant Bloke on the roadside ticket, nor did the person stopped by plod produce any ID at all, it seems). So, prove it.
8. CPS mightily pissed off, but they have no proof. They have had 18mths to prepare case and not a shred of proof as to who was driving this speeding (allegedly) car.
9. CPS request adjournment for 3 weeks to get ID evidence. Some debate how unreasonable that is, they've had 18mths.
10. Case adjourned.
11. On leaving court, in lobby, Plod was very rude to defendant's female barrister, thus encouraging her yet further to put him in his place when they next meet.
Advice of legal team to bloke is that some time in next 3 weeks a copper will look up his address from car reg and come knocking on his front door, saying "Are you mr Joe Bloggs", expecting him to say "yes, how can I help". Following that the copper will then turn up to court (again) and say "I met a bloke on his doorstep who was the same bloke I stopped in a layby 18mths ago and he said he was Bloggs, so that's the ID evidence".
Only this wont work, becos Bloggs knows this gambit and will say when he opens the front door "This is private property, get off it now, I dont want to talk to you. Goodbye". And if it did work, how can plod who stops 20 drivers a day remeber bloke from 18months ago? Currently Joe Bloggs is clean shaven, but at the time he had a Bin Laden beard... or did he, how the F does the copper remember??
So no ID evidence when in court in 3 weeks
If that doesn't result in case being chucked out then there are apparently mistakes done calibrating the speed measuring kit. And to spice things up Bloggs might say that Plod's written witness statement contains untruths, thus casting doubt on plod's credibility as witness.
Anyway, you will all be pleased to hear how, in the case of an alleged 73 in a 60 on a quiet road in a near "supercar" the plods/CPS think it appropriate to spend your taxes not on issuing a fixed penalty but on 3 court hearings for which the prosecution witness (the plod) has to drive 50 miles each way to attend. Still, at least the barrister got some free training on how the law works in this country, so some good might come of it.......
i have a love hate relationship with speed.
we can trot out the argument that police should be out catching criminals
and the police forces do put cameras up to generate revenue. fact. it is not about road safety in every case.
but i donot want to be wiped out because some idiot is speeding. so i do push the limit on motorways and major A roads when conditions are ok. i see no reason why in my car at two am in dry conditions i cannot do 100mph + on an clear motorway. i have been flashed to slow down by unnmarked police car in such conditions. they did not pulll me over just basically pulled in front and flashed up slow down. what intelligent policing. v rare i fear.
they pulled over and i breezed past at 85.
i think 30 mphs should be observed rigourously cos people can step out and even if it aint my 'fault' i would not want to kill them.
Come on brain.get this over and i can go back to killing you with beer
