Would be good to have a beer with any Bristol Channel forum peeps when are you going?
Hi Andy
You can find a reasonable deal on hotels if you are prepared to drive 20 mins from the show. It's a great way to have a look around some of the South Coast hotspots. Went onto Beaulieu last year on the Sunday after the show on the Saturday. Great spot to visit and boaty free as they were all at the show. We may well be going down this year, can't get enough of boats! Not sure that Mrs will agree after being on ours for the last 4 months with only a few days break.
Will probably also be looking for oilies, Musto offshore replacements. Current set have done 8 years service, never leaked but are showing their age. Still haven't leaked though despite the British weather.
They replaced a £100 XM set which were never really dry.
Andy, when we were looking to buy oilies at the boat show, the guy at Force 4 told us that generally the softer they feel, the better they are. We looked at some from Compass 24, and they were cheap, but very stiff and unyielding. We ended up buying Gill Key West sets, which are soft and supple, and these have been very good. I like Gill stuff, as it is good quality, but I don't think you pay as much for the name as Musto and Henri Lloyd. Force 4 generally have good boat show prices.
Thought about going and then realised that when I have been before the weather is usually pretty good. As it has been such a crap summer I'm not going, I think it will probably be perfect sailing weather. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
