Southampton Boat Show ...

… postponed until September 2021 … I'd call that a cancellation given that they have one every September! They are going to have something smaller though by way of compensation.

IMHO thats just idle or spineless, probably both. How come Cannes and Genoa are putting on their shows in Sept and Oct 2020 respectively and Southampton can't? Its the only shop window the British boating industry has got left now. No doubt the health and safety nazis killed it

No theatres, no concerts, no festivals, no live sports we can attend, no bars or atmosphere in pubs (and, pretty soon, no pubs), teenagers forbidden from snogging anyone who isn't in their own household (how perverted is that?) and now..... no boat show.
Can it get any worse?

They need to work harder to produce a safe show, many business have done just that but then aspects of the marine industry are not famous for being on the front foot

I love boat shows and hate them equally. It’s like a religious pilgrimage, it’s physically painful whilst spiritually uplifting.

Bit soon I reckon? Supposedly going to the O2 in April and i think that is borderline... May onwards and I think there's a much better chance of events going ahead..

wasnt the venue used for a carvan expo in september this year and that went ahead, so good chance BOOT will go ahead? Think BOOT could be too restrictive for me to bother going this Jan coming, even though I did enjoy the last one alot.
