Sourcing cylindrical/rod sail battens

I want to replace a cylindrical/rod sail batten (6-7mm diameter x 2.5 metres long) but am having difficulty locating a source.

Can anyone recommend one? (I can of course cut longer battens.)

Or any other sailmaker, preferably one close by where you can pick it up. Most battened furling headsails use cylindical battens and you will need a couple of the little tabs to cover the ends, though several layers of duck tape folded over the ends and trimmed to shape after application is a substitute. Just make sure they are secure, a wad of sticky tape at the bottom of a batten pocket can be a pain to get out.

On my previous boat, I changed the battens in the stack pack to match the sail barrens. Always had two spares!

Try Contender Sailcloth they sell Blue Streak from Oz who make 2 sizes of tubular batten.

Confusingly we used one of their battens to secure/protect our HF aerial (aerial inside the batten) on the insulated stay

Thanks everyone for the sourcing suggestions. Thanks also to Cantata for the kind offer of his surplus battens: I had already pressed on and ordered from lw395's source before I saw the post this morning (though I am some way from East Kent).

Heat shrink works well, shape it round the end with gloved fingers while it is still hot.
