Photo of lamp and failed switch is attached. Any ideas on a source of replacement switch?
Many thanks.

A better photo of the switch would help - is it the white thing to the right?

Anyway, Amazon is probably your best bet. You could try RS, CPC or Farnell (who own CPC) - but you will need to know what you are looking for as they list many thousands of products!

You only need a switch.

Plenty of options from too many outlets to list, even to “motion detection switches” ; ie wave your hand near the lamp and it turns on.

There are even switches that work via touching the lamp or a pad of metal.

A good project to work upon and improve upon a ‘normal’ switch if so inclined.

Just a thought - Maybe it's a good opportunity to upgrade. We have something like this on Jazzcat - touch on and off, long touch to dim or brighten, and USB charger socket, albeit not a particularly fast one.

I've fitted 2 just like that in Musketeer's fore-cabin - to replace the non-functioning Moody original lamps (like the OP's)

Many thanks to all of you, but especially to Baggywrinkle, who identified the switch perfectly and pointed me at the supplier. I’ll buy two or three switches and try to keep the old lamps in service. But one day, a more modern design might be just right. 😊

Postscript:
The company that Baggywrinkle pointed me at notes that, post-Brexit, it only exports to the UK if the order is over 150 Euros.
I used Google search to find an alternative at Mouser Electronics.

Note that the switches don’t come with the circular bezel that fits into the brass housing, nor the actual white plastic rocker that fits into the bezel and that you touch. All a bit tricky to fit back together, but this worked: bezel to brass, then switch to bezel then rocker into switch.

And by the way, the despatch note from Mouser specifies that I can’t resell the switches or any device into which they are fitted without US Government permission! 😂😂😂

I didn't know that ... another benefit of the B-word which must not be mentioned. I used to buy a fair amount from the UK to ship to Germany... that doesn't work any more either.
