I've been quoted £80.50 for 3litres Cruiser Uno from local chandler. I don't need a high spec as I get hardly any fouling anyway. Any suggestions for cheaper alternative?

Thanks for your advice. For better or worse I have now ordered from Flag. Trouble is - I need 3 litres and their stuff only comes in 2.5litre tins. Anyone need the spare 2 litres?

Put an extra coat on the wearing bits.

You didn't wait very long, did you? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

FWIW, the latest flyer from Duncan's quotes 3l of Seago Cruising at £31.75.

I've just used the last tin of four of these I bought four years ago. (Seemed like a good deal - less ££ then, obviously - so I thought I'd get 2 year's worth, and then found that one tin did rather than two.) Seems to work OK, but I'm not in a bad fouling area - far less than in the Forth.

Seago Cruising.......... I bought some navy blue a few weeks ago, mistaking it for Seajet, a product I used a few years ago with which I was very happy. When I realised the mistake, before applying I checked for compatability with last years all ok. On opening the tin you find a product that has the consistency of clotted cream, after thinning it was still awful to apply, and did not cover very well. As for the colour, well it depends on the angle you view it from, I'm beginning to favour the orangy pink tone.

You do have to give it a bit of a stir! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I've used mine with no thinners, and found coverage good (a bit less than 3l for 1 generous coat all over + second coat on the leading / trailing edges and waterline for a 30' fin keeler). I alternate colours (red / white) year by year to make sure I haven't missed a bit / left a thin patch.

Colour accuracy I'm not too fussy about - A/F is normally underwater after all - but they've not been too different to that shown on the tin.

No I didn't wait long. The Flag product seemed like a good deal. I may find that 2.5litres is enough in which case I'll have enough for next year.
Thanks for your reply.
