I own a sealine s25 and would like to put a 12v tv/dvd combo in her can you advise which tv would be best and would an internal aerial be good enough or would i need an external aerial also because of the wood used in the sealine would i be better putting tv on stand or fit it to wall in galley area

I have found tv aerials to be a pain in the bum, and that's with the aerial on the radar arch!. And with freeview you may have to tune all the channels in again (not quick) when you cruise to the next port.

I got a mini sat system in a case from Maplins, good clear picture all the time and runs on 12volts or mains. OK a bit of a pain having to put it away I suppose.

I did manage to install one in our sealine s240, recessed into the magazine rack!
It was a 7inch LCD with freeview, looked factory installed as it was so good.
The smaller sets have a side loading DVD, if its recessed like we did you cannot use it, however we bought one without the DVD player & changed the Radio head unit to one that played DVD's, then linked it to the Lcd TV.

Something like this stylish 8.5 inch philips;

Then add something like this for the DVD player/stereo/cd player;

It was a great setup, you could listen to music as normal, play TV sound through the Stereo & watch movies with cinema surround sound through the stereo.

If the s23/s25 has a simillar magazine rack above the aft berth then you will know how useless it is for magazines, I would look to do the above.

I did have some pictures somewhere, will try & post them if I can find them.

As for the aeriel we had one of those set top ones with a built in amplifier, I mounted a socket to plug it into at the side of the dash, just pluged it in when we wanted to watch TV, removed when underway.
