To cancel out each other's wake you could try travelling in tandem such that the peak of the front craft's meets the trough of the rear craft thereby cancelling each other (assuming that they are the same distance above and below mean water level). Travelling side by side will only create what is called an interference pattern; which of course you will be well familiar with from X-ray crystallography.
Headphones also reduce the after-effects of wash on a raggie.
To be serious, should we consider wake in open water? The, 'what if someone is carrying a pot of boiling water' surely doesnt apply there, although I would hate to think that I had upset Searush's malt under any circumstances (to return to not-quite-so-serious).
