This one's got an aircraft carrier in it...
According to their twitter feed they've been operating helicopters from 846 and 825 Naval Air Squadrons.Any aircraft on the aircraft carrier?
Yes, nice here innit....Looks like the view from top of All saints church but the weather not looking much like Tenerife today.
Is it normal for them to venture forth alone?
I thought carriers had to be protected by a Carrier Battle Group, to protect them.
The armchair admirals are the worst. Probably haven't heard of NATO and task groups of mixed nationalities.the RN no longer has the ships or crews to make up 1 protection group without weakening other commitments, never mind 2 groups.
Too many Admirals and politicians with big ideas harking back to a long lost imperial past...

Yeah but they've moved on this century.I assume you were in the RN at some point (I’ll allow the description to stand even for a sludge-mariner)and maybe even took part in some joint exercises? Apart from our Seppo cousins (on a good day) the rest did not inspire much in the way of confidence.
There are two sorts of ships. Submarines and targets.
Makes you wonder why that was in big letters over the reception desk at the entrance to the submarine school in Gosport.Erm... Submarines are ‘boats’
Wouldn’t know nuffin about it. Back when I were in the Andrew I’d have gone on the trot in preference to a draft to Dolphin..
Drafty didn’t think , just had a laugh. I got two drafts to Neptune... Second one didn’t count as it was on RDP.I was most definitely not a submariner but somehow ended up at Dolphin for a mind-numbingly boring stint between a couple of tours in NI. Never did figure out what Drafty was thinking of!
