sold our princess 440

Congrats on your sale, hope you didnt have to give it away.

If you can run to a 58 JD Yachts in Weymouth have one, its a snatch back and it can be bought cheap from what ive been told.

A mate went to look at it with possibly trading in his phantom 46 against it so its agoer for offers.

Good luck its a buyers market out there especially in the over 50ft range there are a large number of big boats for sale not being used, I was on boatshed 5 mins ago looking at plus 50ft range, you can get a T51 now for under 300k.

Ive always liked the phantom 46 its a bit more modern than what you had for around the 220k mark starter prices for a 2001 version, you could probably walk away for sub 200k if you find the right man.

One thought is that most people want the mid cabin flybridge these days ie princess 50 and manhatten 50, though on v drives, not my thing as maintainance goes.

Spend wisely!!! and enjoy the looking.

Sq52 a gorgeous boat, but only two cabin which makes it a real bugger to resell.

If you do buy one, make sure you get it really cheap to try and mitigate future losses on resale.

Hi all,

we sold our princess 440,were now thinking of
of a squadron 52,year 2000 or newer any thoughts
will be appreciated.
Thanks.
Cathal

Agree with ari. Not sure why you'd want to go from a 3 cabin 440 to a 2 cabin Sq52 and he's right, Sq52's are difficult to sell on because of this. Fairline did eventually realise the error of their ways and squeeze in a 3rd cabin cubby hole on later models but it is tiny. And the flybridge on the Sq52 is small as well. I would have thought a Princess 50 Mk1 or 52 would be the logical next step up?

Hi,
Thanks for the advice, the reason I like sq 52 is because
its a little bit less conventional in layout,a bit quirky and yes
maybe a wee bit less cabin space, but as most of the newer
ones had the small third cabin and the crew cabin it would
cover our needs, the princess was faultless except for an engine ECU
unit a couple of years ago which was a volvo part, as Paul assisted
with his advice at the time if I remember correctly, also Paul which
of the engines would you go for,the TAMD 122's or the D series on
a few of them.
Thanks again.
Cathal.

The tamd 122 is a good 12 litre lump started life as a 480hp version then up to 610 before it went full edc and unit type commonrail pressure tech, either is a good bet.
