I have a Solar Vent ... Sunvent Model : SVT-212SA

The stainless steel domed type with IN / OUT config ....

I'm thinking of fitting to my forehatch to provide through air in the two cabins, I appreciate that the volume of air moved is low - but it at least can provide some change. I am also aware that claims of 40hrs charge and running is optimistic. My forehatch at present has no clear light part ... no vent ... just a pivoted simple GRP hatch.

My Question is to anyone who uses similar ... any problems with water leaks / or getting in through the vent ?

Apart from the blanking cap to the inner outlet - the inlet being a slot all around will be open all time.

Here's a similar item with same setup :

Yes. Mine is more simple - ie not in/out. Have had about 3 variations over the years and this has lasted longest. When they peg out I notice the difference over the winter. Current one doesn't seem to leak when hose / big wave goes over it, but past ones have - easily solved by a bit of shock cord round it.

Thanks ....

Mine only gives you option of IN / OUT by changing the impellor .... they simply have swapped blade pitch angle.

Looks like I shall be fitting it ...
