I would like to reuse the connectors to enable removal of the panel for security or relocation and, needles to say, the cable length is inappropriate.

Anybody succeeded in removing (and reusing) the connectors?

I guess they are the "non return" variety which need a sleeve down the outside of the pin to depress the tang.

Silly post. I'll fit Tyco amp new ones.

Not sure if you mean separating a male and female MC4 connector or opening an MC4 connector to rewire it.

If it is separating the male and female MC4 which often refuse to budge, I had broken several before I realised you could buy a key (tool) to depress the tangs and ease them apart. Looks like this...

Only costs a few quid but worth having onboard.

bought a panel from photonic universe and it has the same connectors, i want to put the cables through a deck gland, assuming that tool will undo them? what is said tool called? thank you

The tool helps unplug the male connector from the female connector, it does not remove the connector from the cable. If you want to put the cable through a gland, chop the plug off and use an ordinary connector inside the boat. You can use crimp connectors glue lined if in a particularly damp location, or you can use Wago connectors.

Easy to find field installable MC4 connectors on the web. I bought a few from China for future plans.

I've just installed 4 solar panels from photonic universe. I cut off the MC4 connectors, the connectors unscrew to give access to the crimped connector, which I cut off.

Once through the deck gland, and in the "dry", I used standard yellow crimp bullet connectors and heat shrink with melt glue. I just left one connection without heat shrink, so I can disconnect easily if I need to.
