So You Thought It Was Safe To........!!

You might remember that I had a bit of a cock up with my SSR Number. I had One number on the back of boat. But a certifacate for another number that I'd got just after I bought the boat. Not realising that it was all ready registered. Then I lost the certificate.

The plott thickens.

Posted a message on here. Just to see if some kind soul would look for my hull number. And kindly some one did. ( Hope he got the right boat) !!!
I sent off for a form and filled it in. With a ten quid cheque.
But then thinking that it would be alot of bother sticking new numbers on I enclosed a letter. Asking if they could alternatly send me a certificate for the number I have on the back of boat.

Very pleased this morning to open my new certificate. And put it away Safe. Then opened another envelope. And this has another certificate in it for the original number.
No doubt I'll find the one I lost so now have three numbers!!
Is there a market for these things!
Would any of you like some SSR numbers to stick on a boat of your choice.
Can I go round the marina sticking numbers on the back of things I fancy. I have all the certificates in my name, to prove ownership!!

Ahh but theres the thing. SSR does NOT prove ownership. All it does prove is that French port authorities are easily impressed with official looking bits of paper.

Dam it, and I thought I could corner the market with boats for ten quid a piece!! Could you not have left me in that happy state a bit longer.
Still I dont have to spend time tearing numbers off the back and looking for new ones, it's a small consolation
