A packet of those awful Gauloises was no match for a packet of twenty Weights which if opened out let alone just on its back you could design a complete yacht. Now with internet and nonsmoking it’s impossible to find a fag packet or an envelope to scribble on…..gone of the days of sitting in a cafe happily drawing and explaining some detail to your friends…..more likely the will pull out their phones and produce a to scale drawing !…….but what did the French do for want of a fag packet?

Their rot set in some time ago. Napoleon obviously had no fag packet to draw up his battle plan.

They were civilised and had paper napkins upon which many things have been drawn and designed. 😁

Reminds me of my early days as a trainee building surveyor. The site agent wrote all his level calculations on a Weights packet. He even filed the packets for future record.

A tub of heroes every Christmas, lots of tubs for bits. But.... which one of those 10 identical tubs contains the thing I want?

You cheapskate. You mean you don't have a monogrammed notebook and pen matching your silver cigarette case?

There was a cafe/restaurant in Seaton in Devon decided to use white blank paper table coverings with a pot of 🖍 crayons
For the kids to scribble on...this however tranformed the place into a must go to restaurant and booking was way in advance, some of the (wanna be artists) work was brilliant and ended up with bits of table cover sketches pinned on the walls...Frances Bacon eat your heart out....

2 oz Plain tins I've seen at £3.50 a throw. They appear in 'Preppers' shops sometimes listed as 'Survival tins' to be filled with essential kit ready for Armageddon. If you want an arty one with a picture on the lid it could cost you about £6.
I've got loads of these {as advertised on eBay]

I was going to chucke them out.

For that sort of money they can have what's in them as well! 😂
