Melody, if the only way to pay (legally) is by card or bank transfer, I really do think it's time the companies woke up to this and started building the CC charges into their pricing, as they do in most of the rest of the world. Then they could perhaps offer a small discount for payment by bank transfer if they felt so moved?

I think when sufficient numbers of clients pay by card they will do that but at present I'd guess 99% of people pay by bank transfer. Or still use cash.

It's not like the UK where everyone has a card. Paying by card is still unusual here. I used a business card to pay for a computer for our office a couple of weeks ago, for instance, and realised it was the first time in 14 years I've ever paid for anything in Greece using a card. Like the majority of Greeks, I don't have a personal credit or debit card and our business card has now been used ... once.
