Snapdragon 23 - Sail dimensions

Hi,
a friend here in Germany fall in love with a Snapdragon 23 which he bought for a very good price without even checking if the equipment was complete. The "only" (say in the moment biggest) problem is that some parts of the the rigg are missing and that no sails are included. Can someone help me with the right dimension he would need to order a new sail or even better direct me to someone who is selling used sails which are fitting? Any condition would do. Beside this any documentation or manual for the boat would help. Is there e.g. a possibility to find the hull number / production number / production year out?

even though all decient sailmakers will have a data base of most popular boat rig dims, its always best to measure the actual rig incase something has been altered

Official sheet shows total sq. ft as 220 ... with std jib and main.

Taking the dimensions of the sheet :

J fig = 7 ft 04

Jibs .... Max luff 24 ft 0 Leech 22 ft 02 foot 10 ft 6

then Luff 20 ft 02 Leech 18 ft 06 foot 07 ft 06

then Luff 15 ft 0 Leech 11 ft 06 foot 06 ft 06 with very high cut foot


Main Luff 24 ft 09 Leech 26 ft 07 (straight line not allowing for roach)... foot 11 ft 0

Mast is indicated here at 27 ft 03

Above figs are taken from Thames Marine sales sheet showing standard sail suit set sizes. This takes no account of any changes / alterations made by any owner over the years ...
When I had to change sails / add furler to my 23 years ago - I used a builders 50 ft tape measure and halyards etc. to measure all my dimensions to make sure ... and then checked against Sailmakers database. I used Seateach in Emsworth who had all the nec. and did a fine job on mine. I realise you guy is in Holland - must be someone there to make sails ?

Thanks a lot for the help and references.
My friend has asked a sailmaker but the offer was around 2100 € which is twice the boat price... It seems that we found a genoa but we are still missing a main sail. Can anybody help?

I don't know what p&p costs would be ... but a good place to try is

Seateach .... http://www.seateach.com/

They have large stocks of second-hand sails from "cheap" to near new price. I have had some of their budget cheap sails before and found them very good ...

They will also supply new if you want - but then of course prices ..

They also have standard tables for boats sail sizes ... and lists of sails on web-site - but it's best to telephone as the list is impossible to keep current ...
