I am thinking of taking off my rib for the winter and possibly beyond and wondered whether its best to store inflated as is or deflated in its bag.

It would be easier to store deflated and are there any do's and don'ts for a happy hibernation?

Thanks

Nick

creases are what can damage the outer surface, so be carefully of them if you deflate it for winter, if you follow manufacture instructions or give them a phone, you should be OK,

If it has not been deflated in years it might be worth forcing some talc into the tubes in case they have become sticky inside.

Though I have not done this the principle seems easy enough, couple of desert spoons into removed valves, inflate and give the whole boat a bit of a shake.

It is on my list of jobs to do, about number 83 I think.

Deflate on a dryish/warmish day,..leave alone for an hour or so, then stow away in it's bag.
Keep in a dry place until next required

I usually deflate a little (so as not to put stress on the joints) and then suspend from the beams in the garage. Upside down is best as it keeps it cleaner. Use wide straps so that it doesnt cut into the tubes.

the tubes are soft if you bang your head into it .!!!!! /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif
