Just got one of these and am about to start restoring. Does anyone know where I can get any information on it?

Scoresby built in the sixties by Whitehall Shipyard Whitby, Yorkshire in 32' and 35' versions.
Mostly mahogany on oak. Strong simple construction but planking quality variable. Dont know whether yard or successors still in existance but Whitby library and local press might be good places to start.

I have spent the last twelve years restoring a Scoresby and know them very well.

If you have any questions - just e mail me.

I am also trying to create a definitive history of the class. There were only 9 built - what is yours called? I may know something about it already.

Hello

I happened to see your e mail regarding the Scoresby.

How do you know so much about them?

I am trying to put together a history of the class (I own the first one built). Can you help?

Thanks

Damian

No but Aquilla A is one of boats I have tracked down.

There were 9 in total.

The first one was 32 ft long and called Friendship (Shown at the Earls Court Boatshow in 1967) - This is the one I own.

The other 8 were all 35ft long and I have managed to find out about 5 of them so am keen to learn about the others.

All help gratefully recieved!

Hi Damien,

Mine's called Scoresby Knap, its half way through keel up restoration, new decks, tanks, engine, gbox, cabin etc. Will be finished July 05. Got lots of pics of before and during if your interested. I tried Whitehall Shipyard and the local library but no info available. Do you have anything? Thanks, Simon.

Sounds great.

I am just about to take mine through the French canals after a twelve year rebuild to A1 condition. including full re-planking.

Have lots of facts and stories I could share.

E mail me on damian.@mustoes.co.uk and we can swap photos.
