Skipper insurance covering covid

Post Brexit, my Pantaenius skippers insurance is no longer available to buy.
Post Covid, my Topsail skippers insurance does not cover any event related to a pandemic!

Not been a good year.

While the main reason why I have a topsail insurance hasn't changed (skipper liability/deposit cover), the cancellation/repatriation cover is now useless. it would be nice to have a skippers insurance that also covered cancellation/repatriation. Any suggestions?

I use Hamburger Yachtversicherung Shomacker.

They have a huge range of choices now. Used to be cheap but creeping up.

I used to but the policy I use is limited to citizens of EU Member States.

I'm a UK citizen. I renewed mine two weeks ago prior to the delivery im on now with no problem.

My Mistake, EU resident

• Due to technical insurance reasons we offer this product only for residents of EU Member States as well as Norway. Unfortunately we can no longer offer skipper's liability insurance to Italian and UK (Brexit) residents due to technical insurance reasons. We have to inform you that legal expenses insurance for skipper and crew is available only for German residents.

If one has insurance for the boat & is only going abroad for a short while, why not take out a separate travel insurance with someone like Staysure as a multi trip policy? It is limited to 35 days per trip for an over 75 (like me), but longer for younger persons. The 35 days would be extendable in certain exceptions ie unable to travel due to covid
Would that not be sufficient for covid, & other ailments, when abroad?
Or is the Op looking for a long term policy to cover periods employed as skipper in & out of the EU?

The cover I had was for when acting as a delivery skipper or charter skipper.

Haven't looked in to it for a while as the TCA limited working in tourism in the country I skippered in.

With the WHO stating that the Covid pandemic is now over, perhaps the insurers can be persuaded to revisit their policies?
