Last time we were out sailing a couple of weeks ago we tried to set up the auto pilot.
Came to the conclusion, after about 3/4 hour, that perhaps the steel hull was spoiling the internal compass and would need an external. Just got a quote from Simrad in Abz for 234 GBP + vat. Seems a wee bit high considering I only paid about 350GBP for the main bit.

I guess there is no real hurry. We set her up without the WP 30 then sat back in the sun having a quiet beer and a bulls**t.
After about an your or so we realised we had not touched the wheel!!
Maybe better to take it off and sell it!

I would read the manuals again, both of them if you have the remote, i'm not the dumbest person in the world but it took about four days for me to set mine up properly as i found the manuals a bit overwritten (vague?).......keith

Read the manuals and so did my mate who was down with me the second time I tried to set it up.
I think the second time we did it, or tried to, the Guardia came out and had a look see. Must have thought we were pi**ed!!!
The only solution we can come up with the interference from the steel hull.
But rest assured before I spend anymore dosh on it I will be going around in ever decreasing circles again!!!
