Simrad/Lowrance/B&G Ethernet Plug/Socket

Does anyone know the type/make of the yellow 5 pin plug/socket used for connecting Simrad/Lowrance/B&G ethernet cables?

I want to make up a cable to connect a commercial router (RJ45 connector) to a Simrad chartplotter (5 pin yellow plug) to experiment with the GoFree wifi app.

No - that thread 'died'.

I've looked at the ethernet connector on the chartplotter (NSS8) and the radar but there are no identifying marks that I can see.

I thought I'd try this new thread to see if anyone else can help. I don't want to cannibalise the existing cables.

If this fails I'll have to grit my teeth and spend £28 on a Simrad cable.

I've just added a couple of photos to the first post in the hope that someone will recognise the connector.

I've also now discovered that a Simrad cable with yellow plug one end and an ethernet RJ45 female on the other is over £50.

Have you tried asking them? Spin them some BS about having to make up a custom cable.

If you can find a photo of the RJ45 end it may have standard colours if you're lucky. Colour coding is shown in this handy picture:

How would that help in finding the right plug?

That image is very misleading, it implies that the two ends of a cable should be wired differently.

It's a custom connector specific to Navico.
